PORTRAIT OF A PSYCHIC HEALER
When Joe Titunik helped his sister Helen into my office her body was as wasted as Adela's had been. Her face was gaunt and pale and her eyes were listless. Helen, who was fifty-five, had been stricken with breast cancer, and despite two radical mastectomies the cancer had spread to her liver. She had since undergone repeated chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and surgery, until she was too weak to endure anymore. Medically there was nothing more that could be done for her.During Helen's first treatment I concentrated only on trying to pump her devastated body as full of "energy" as possible. My objective was to raise her general level of vitality to rid her of fatigue and pain before attempting to95
work on the cancer itself. And with that very first treatment Helen, did seem to gain strength. Later, having read that the lymphatic system is a natural barrier to cancer, I began, in my visualization, to try to energize Helen's lymphatic system.
Helen began coming to see me almost every day, and it quickly became evident to me that she was a very special person. She dealt with the word straight from her heart; she was a loving person who loved for no other motive than for the sake of loving.After repeated treatments all of us were ecstatic over Helen's increased strength and appetite. Her doctors were puzzled by her wonderful appearance. Ironically, as soon as she grew stronger, they decided that she was again able to endure the effects of chemotherapy. Somewhat hesitantly, Helen agreed. She made it a point to come to me within a day of each chemical treatment, as the chemotherapy left her nauseous, weak, and in pain, and since she was responsive to the "energy" I gave her, I was able to relieve most of the negative effects.I gave Helen many intensive series of treatments over a five-year period, and eventually repeated blood tests revealed no live cancer cells in her body. As usual when confronted with improvement for which they have no explanation, the doctors labeled her cure a case of spontaneous remission.I treat Helen every few weeks now, for maintenance. Every time I see her I'm struck again by what a loving and positive person she is. Working with Helen means a great deal to me, because I think having Helen around spreading joy is very important.* * *
